If the dog accidentally ate salt, then don’t worry. Just allow the animal to drink as much water as it wants.
Other seasonings for dogs that are undesirables
Dried onions and garlic contain toxic substances for animals. Therefore, excessive consumption leads to poisoning, which is accompanied by vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain. These symptoms may appear only a few days after. But why is this happening? Most people have an enzyme to digest onions and garlic, but dogs do not.
Another seasoning for dogs that can lead to severe abdominal pain and vomiting is nutmeg. Due to it, dogs become overly agitated, as the substances contained in nutmeg affect the central nervous system. Then a condition of drowsiness begins. Excessive consumption of nutmeg can be fatal: only 2 grams can make the human condition worse, not to mention the dogs.
Cocoa powder, exactly like chocolate, is also harmful. It can lead to heart and kidney problems.
Seasonings and spices safe for dogs
Mint is the most natural, medicinal, and safe seasoning for dog food. A small amount of mint in food or water will keep your pet’s breath fresh. Moreover, mint has a positive effect on digestion.
And catnip, in addition to the content of minerals and vitamins, has a calming effect. Catnip is also recommended for animals with insomnia and helps to deal with diarrhea and early symptoms of colds. A maximum of 0.5 teaspoons is sufficient for an adult, the smaller the pet, the less mint it needs.
